Terms
Draft. These terms describe how the event is intended to run, but they have not been reviewed by a lawyer and the operating legal entity is not yet named. Both will be settled before entries open.
Watching is free
There is no spectator ticket and no registration to attend. Nothing on this page restricts your right to walk in and watch. The venue's own rules apply while you are inside it.
Entering a robot
By entering you agree that:
- Your robot meets the size, weight and safety limits in the rules.
- You have declared every high-tech feature honestly. Undeclared features found by a judge are penalised the same as declared ones, and repeated concealment can cost you the entry.
- The judges' decisions are final. This includes what counts as a high-tech feature, whether a match is voided and replayed, and whether a robot is safe to run at all.
- Your robot may be refused, stopped mid-match or removed on safety grounds, at any time, without a refund. Safety is the one thing not being taken lightly here.
- You are responsible for your own robot, including any damage it does. Robots damage each other constantly and that is expected; nobody is compensated for it.
Age
Entrants under 18 need a parent or guardian to complete the registration and to supply an emergency contact. Under-18s must be accompanied by an adult on the day.
Workshops
Workshop seats are limited and sold per session. Your seat is confirmed only once payment has cleared and we have sent you a confirmation — a page in your browser saying it worked is not by itself confirmation. If a session is cancelled or moved by us, see the refunds policy.
Photography
The event is photographed and filmed. Entrants are asked to consent separately at registration, and can decline without affecting the entry. Spectators in a public venue may appear in wide shots of the room; tell a member of staff if you would rather not and we will do what we reasonably can.
Changes and cancellation
The date, schedule, venue and format may change. We will publish changes here and email everyone on the mailing list. If the event is cancelled entirely, see the refunds policy.
Behaviour
Be decent to other people. Harassment, damaging the venue, or interfering with someone else's robot outside a match will get you removed without a refund.
