This is the only thing on this site we actually want you to do. Watching is free and always will be — but the event does not exist without people willing to build something terrible and lose with it in public.

You do not need to know anything

That is not encouragement, it is the format. Skill is penalised. If you have never built anything that moves, you are the intended entrant and you are already ahead of anyone who owns a soldering iron.

A robot that qualifies can be: a slipper with a motor taped to it, a biscuit tin on wheels, a cardboard box with a fan inside, anything that moves on its own after someone says go.

What you will need to give us

You will be asked for:

• Your name, and a team name if you have one
• Age (6 to 12), a category — Team or Solo — and a school if you are entering through one
• An email address and a Malaysian phone number
• An emergency contact
• The robot's name, roughly what it is and what it is made of
• Any high-tech features, declared honestly — see the rules
• A photo, if you have one
• Whether we may photograph you on the day

RM20 per team

That covers food, materials, a t-shirt and the workshop — nobody pays for those separately, and there is no spectator ticket to buy either way. Register your team below.
